A book to celebrate letter carriers -
It's about time!

We need your stories. We are the only people who still visit each house in America every work day. We observe neighborhoods, talk with customers, and perform our job in all kinds of weather. We have a unique view of life in the United States and each of us has a story or two to share.

These stories are about our experiences on the street...the funny ones, embarrassing moments, the kids, senior citizens, the heroic efforts, the dogs and other animals, weather conditions. or just a comment overheard!

We would also like cartoons reflecting life as a letter carrier on the street and photos of unusual mailboxes. Stories and cartoons are welcome from both retirees and active carriers.

Proceeds will go to PERF - Postal Employee Relief Fund - which benefits Postal Workers in times of natural disasters.

We want YOUR story; the kind you tell each other or your families at the end of the day.

We have stories from 46 states already! We just need North Dakota, Nevada, Mississippi and Vermont. Please tell us what it's like delivering mail there; or tell us about a memorable customer, or what it's like in the winter. We need your story to make the book complete. Please help make this book possible and send us YOUR story!
Stories accepted until December 31, 2008.

"This is a great idea...a perfect gift for a retiring letter carrier or someone who's just passed probation.  Please let me know how I can get a copy when it's published."
